As the 42nd Annual Sunshine State Games Festivals draw near, registration deadlines are quickly approaching. Two events, the SSG Powerlifting and Golf Championships, have registrations deadlines falling this weekend.
The registration deadline for Powerlifting is Friday, May 14 and Golf deadline is Saturday, May 15. The Golf event, to be held at Cleveland Heights Golf Course, in Lakeland, will also serve as a qualifier for the 2021 Florida Senior Games, for athletes age 50 and over.

The Powerlifting Championships will be held on Saturday, May 29 at the Auburndale Community Center. Other events taking place at the Polk County Festival on May 29-30 is Taekwondo at the RP Funding Center and Bowling at Cypress Lanes, in Winter Haven. The Bowling Championships join the Golf event as a qualifier for the 2021 Florida Senior Games.
The registration deadlines for Bowling and Taekwondo is Friday, May 21. However, Taekwondo will allow onsite registration on Friday, May 28 at the RP Funding Center.

The Sunshine State Games, Florida’s only Olympic-style Sports Festival, is presented annually by the Florida Sports Foundation, the official sports promotion and development organization of the State of Florida. The 2021 Games are presented in conjunction with Clay County Tourism and Airstream Ventures, the Gainesville Sports Commission, Florida’s Sports Coast and Polk County Sports Marketing. The Sunshine State Games is part of the state’s $57.4 billion sports industry that accounts for 580,000 jobs statewide.
